$8,000 Federal Tax Credit For New Homebuyers
Has Been Extended To April 30, 2010!
Buyers with specific questions about the tax credit should consult with a qualified tax advisor. But here's a brief rundown of the rules.
A first-timer is defined as anyone who has not owned a principal residence during the three years immediately before the purchase. Married people filing as such cannot claim the credit if either spouse has owned a main residence within the last three years. For more information, go to http://www.federalhousingtaxcredit.com.
In order to qualify for this credit, you need to have an accepted offer by April 30th and your escrow needs to BE CLOSED by June 30, 2010. That includes the 30 - 45 days it will take to get your escrow closed once it is in escrow. Don't know where to start? Contact me today for more information about the program and for assistance with learning how to get pre-approved!
